The title of the project produced by the St. Peter Parish Project Committee for this year is “A Coast-to-Coast Panorama – Jubilee Reflections on the Five Facets of St. Peter’s Diamond Legacy”.

In celebrating who we are as we Barbadians approach the fiftieth anniversary of Barbados’ Independence on November 30th this year, the members of the St. Peter Parish Project Committee (PPC) and of the Parish Independence Committee (PIC) are indeed glad to be given this opportunity to meaningfully reflect on and share with our residents the developments and achievements made parochially and nationally over this period of time.

Objectives of the Project

• To sensitize residents about the role played by the sea in St. Peter over the years in the areas of trade, commerce and leisure activities. Also, to show the impact on residents of any economic contributions made as a result.
• To develop a greater appreciation for St. Peter fisher-folk, the hard work done by them on a daily basis and their contribution to their parish.
• To create opportunities for residents of St. Peter by training them to be able to take up possible opportunities offered in the area of tour-guiding, e.g., walk tours of Speightstown etc.
• To educate residents about the unique historical features of St. Peter.

To enhance community spirit through outreach programmes e.g., painting of mural, preparation and erection of signage, fish-boning workshop.
