Our project entitled, “Re-imaging our Gems-Diamond of the Rock”, promotes the idea that the communities of St. Peter are rich in known and unknown treasures, which when brought to light can positively impact and bring growth to our main foreign exchange earner through community-based tourism.

Through various programmes and partnerships with local establishments and personnel, we aim to equip residents and accommodation owners in the tourism sector with the skills necessary to enhance tourism at the community and, consequently, at the national level. We also aim to develop and implement projects which will assist in sustaining our tourism product at both a community and national level.

The project was conceptualized by some members of last year’s project committee and core members of this year’s project committee. On board also, are new members from the tourism industry who have been adding their wealth of experience to the committee. The present committee continues to use the brand name of ‘Barbados’ Forward Thinkers’
